Meg and I were in southern California about 2 weeks ago. I would have posted this blog earlier, but I forgot my camera in LA. I just got it back, so here's some flics...

Shooting glasses through glass while wearing glasses.

Our first stop in San Diego, Valentine's! I love the fish burritos and horchata.

From there we drove our trusty rental car over to the Tribal warehouse, where we were greeted by this enormous lion head that P.O.D. uses on stage.

The warehouse is full of really nice graffiti pieces. I particularly like this one by Seak.

After we raided Tribal for t-shirts and b-boy DVDs, we hooked up with my buddy Dave. Within moments of our arrival, Dave and I were hitting the vaporizer in his studio.

Some flics of his studio...

Dave is the man behind the Bunny Kitty. Check it out.

After meeting his cat Kip, it's no wonder where the inspiration for Bunny Kitty comes from. Kip is bananas.

This one is Daisy. Further inspiration.

Dave lives in the South Park neighborhood. I love it. I especially like these canyons.

And how about these colors?

Wow.

Big Kitchen is my favorite breakfast spot in SD.

I love restaurants that decorate their walls like this.

Since we were in Cali, we had to check out the beach. It was PACKED.

Felt good to play in the ocean.

Meggy was lovin' it.

Mmm, kelp.

I really dig the beach neighborhoods. Lots of cool little houses.

The roller coaster at Ocean Beach gave both of us gnarly bruises.

One afternoon, Dave and I painted a wall with our friends Surge and Brisk. On the walk to the spot, I caught this sweet El Camino...

And across the street was this blue monster.

This is the piece I came up with. I added a huge snake to the background of all our pieces. Thanks to my man Jase for supplying the paint.

Dave pulled this one out of his bag of styles.

Another nice one from Surge.

And my buddy Brisk still holds it down.

From SD, Meg and I drove up to LA so my buddy Roger could interview me for the Oct issue of Juxtapoz. We also hooked up with my friend Eden so she could shoot the portrait that will accompany the interview. We drove up to the Angeles Forest to get the photos. I caught this flic on the way back down the mountain, looking out towards downtown LA.
I can't believe how gross LA is. Can you see that smog? So nasty. I hope I never have to go back to LA again. We sat in freeway traffic for 4 hours trying to get from LA to SD. I can see why LA produces more carbon monoxide than any other American city. It broke my heart to be participating in such an obviously unwise activity. To all my friends in LA that ride bikes, keep at it and hope the fossil fuel burners get wise by your example. And try not to choke on their exhaust in the meantime. I'm outta here...
