We posted a news post asking people for ideas for our Arting Mondays when Mars emailed suggesting that we check out the 6th and Market studio of David Choong Lee & Brian Barneclo. Sounded good to us! So Jesse and I rode on over to find David waiting for us at the door.

David is about to move out to find a larger space and to give more room to Brian as both their work is getting larger.

For Brian Barneclo's silk screens.

David's been teaching painting at the Art Academy (how many buildings do they need?!) for the last 11 years.

David has a few high quality books out of his work.

The studio has this cool two floor setup.

One of my favorite films for sure. The Harder They Come

Thanks for showing us around, David. Good luck with the finals! Sorry we missed Brian...
And then we left the grime of 7th and Market to the much more pleasant Western Addition near Alamo Square where Kelly Tunstall and Ferris Plock share a large studio which sits under an old victorian house.

The large comfortable studio is filled with so much eye candy.

I see a photo of mine up on the wall! Stoked.

And a Chris Duncan under the antlers.

Ferris showing Jesse something.

It's not uncommon to find Kelly and Ferris working while friends mill about drinking and drawing themselves. The studio is very cozy.

Kelly and Ferris are working on a show together which opens next Saturday, Dec 29th, at the Upper Haight Stussy store.

As you can obvously see, they're new work contains a lot of playing card imagery.

And the gold in Ferris's work is in fact good leaf... I like it.

Later Ferris and thanks for the tour. We're off to the Umbrella Christmas dinner!
