A couple weeks back we checked out the Divisadero Art Walk on cold San Francisco summer evening. Compared to the last Divis art walk we made it to, this one seemed a lot less crowded. No doubt the cold weather was the culprit.
Our first stop was Blue Jay Cafe for their amazing fried chicken.
This guy was playing some jammy jams while...
I destroyed the friend chicken.
Engrossed in a chicken and sangria coma ($2 specials on Thursdays), we cross the street to Big Umbrella Studios for the opening reception of "The Evilest Place on Earth".
Cooking up some food out front.
Dark themed group show. Some technically good pieces in the show.
Dude, Jesus totally smoked pot. Love it!
Silk screen setup in the back of the space.
Moved on down Divisadero to a new second story gallery space called... A Second Story - 853 Divisadero - Art opening for James Williams, Kat Meler, and Adrianna Bamber
They have a small clean little gallery space up stairs from their retail store. Beer and wine served.
Collages by Los Angeles based Amy Jo Diaz
Nice clean fashion-eee type O work.
Checking out the plants.
And skull plants.
Not a whole lot of galleries on Divisadero. A lot of bars and resturants had art on the walls, but I hate standing over someone eating dinner to try and take a peek at the art... Decided to end the Art Walk part of the evening and embark on the Drinks part of the evening at Mojo Cafe.
Thumbs up made it back from Brazil.
Beanies in the summer time.
