The next day I had set up a few of studio visits with friends just to see what everyone is up to. I brought along Venice Ca. collector Chris Ward and his beautiful traveling companion Renee Inktelopher. First stop was RISD grad and accomplished painter Robin Williams. Her studio is in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a rabbit warren of artists studios right on the water.

Next visit was with old friend Jean-Pierre Roy, but not before having a few beers in Williamsburg.
Jean-Pierre Roy is an amazing painter who currently has a show up at Michael Moore Gallery in LA. His large scale apocalyptic paintings include sci-fi overtones while maintaining subtle painterly qualities. He has inserted himself as a giant in his epic new work that gives the viewer a psychedelic sense of scale while humanizing the works simultaneously.

Next we headed over to Eric White's studio. Eric and I have been friends for going on 20 years and I have always admired his endless skill and technique. Eric is currently working on 2 shows, a two man show with Daniel Davidson in Copenhagen and a solo show for next year at Martha Otero Gallery in LA. Eric describes his work as based in surrealism coupled with hyper realism existing in parallel universes.
