$1 Million Dollar Protest
Tuesday, 18 February 2014 /// Written by Trippe

MIAMI --- "Oops" is what local Miami artist Maximo Caminero thought after dropping and breaking a vase worth 1 million dollars in what he said was "an act of performance protest" on behalf of "all the local artists in Miami that have never been shown in museums here".

Caminero could serve up to 5 years in prison for his protest, and to be frank, we're not sure if his work is worthy of a mueseum show to begin with. Hey, he got some press though... just may have to spend a few years in prison for it.

Chinese dissident artist Ai Weiwei Tuesday shrugged off the smashing of a $1 million Han dynasty vase that was part of his exhibition at a Miami museum, saying his works often get broken.

Friends who witnessed Tasering of Beach teen offer disturbing details
Thursday, 08 August 2013 /// Written by Trippe

MIAMI --- 17 year old graffiti artist/ skateboarder "Reefa" (Israel Hernandez-Llach), whom we're not familiar with but thought the story was interesting, was killed by a police's tazer after being spotted spray-painting a shuttered McDonald's early Tuesday morning and after a short chase. According to friend and "lookout", who was there during the ordeal, cops laughed and "high-5'd" each other after the tazzing which knocked Israel to the ground and later killed him.

We're not sure if the act of tazzing was neccessary, but it does sound like something went wrong as tasers are considered a nonlethal weapon. ~continue reading
