Wasn't familiar with emerging Brooklyn based artist Anthony Michael Sneed's work until we checked some out after getting an email the other day letting us know about his pop-up show Thursday at NYC's ARTJAIL.

After spending some time checking out his work, we wanted to show you a sampling. Looks good. Check out Thursday's opening, NYC people.

Anthony Michael Sneed will also be showing at Shepard Fairey's Subliminal Projects in the future.

Last Saturday, Pattern Recognition, a group show, opened at Subliminal Projects in Los Angeles. The show themed around both visual patterns, whether simple or decorative, and the ability of the human mind to order chaos into recognizable patterns featured works by Richard Colman, Dalek, Seonna Hong, Nikki McClure and Souther Salazar. We stopped by to check it out . . .

Jim Houser at Subliminal Projects
Wednesday, 21 July 2010 /// Written by Van Edwards

If you're in Los Angeles, be sure to get to Subliminal Projects where Jim Houser's show, The Homebody (photos), runs through Aug 7th. Jim also released a vinyl album of music through Free News Project ($24.95) which, as Jim writes: For the last 10 or so years, making music has always been the place that I turned when the paintbrush wasn't working for me. I found that even when I was burned out from making art, the act of sitting and making music would allow me not to feel like a waste of time and space. I came to realize that this was part of my whole process, so why not incorporate those sounds into the installations I do in a gallery.

This was Jim's son Seamus' first show.
